O Botafogo marcou uma reunião com Tite para a tarde desta segunda-feira (14/9). O encontro faz parte do movimento do clube em busca de um novo treinador após a saída de Franclim Carvalho. A informação foi divulgada inicialmente pelo jornalista Wellington Arruda e confirmada pela ESPN.
Tite está entre os nomes avaliados pela diretoria alvinegra, que pretende apresentar o projeto do Botafogo e ouvir o treinador. Neste momento, porém, não há acordo encaminhado, e outros profissionais também estão no radar do clube. Enquanto a diretoria define o próximo passo, Rodrigo Bellão segue à frente da equipe de forma interina.

Aos 65 anos, Tite está sem comandar uma equipe desde março de 2026, quando deixou o Cruzeiro. O treinador havia chegado ao clube mineiro no fim de 2025, mas permaneceu apenas quatro meses no cargo.

Apesar de ter conquistado o Campeonato Mineiro, Tite acabou desligado em meio ao início ruim do Cruzeiro no Campeonato Brasileiro. Antes da passagem pela Raposa, o técnico construiu uma carreira marcada por trabalhos em clubes brasileiros e no exterior.
Tite comandou Grêmio, Atlético-MG, Palmeiras, Internacional, Al Ain, Al-Wahda, Flamengo e Corinthians, além da Seleção Brasileira.
Passagem vitoriosa pelo Corinthians
Foi no Corinthians que Tite viveu um dos períodos mais importantes da carreira. Em duas passagens pelo clube, conquistou a Libertadores e o Mundial de Clubes em 2012, além do Campeonato Brasileiro de 2011 e 2015 e da Recopa Sul-Americana de 2013.
Na Seleção Brasileira, o treinador disputou duas Copas do Mundo. Em 2018, a equipe foi eliminada pela Bélgica nas quartas de final. Quatro anos depois, no Catar, o Brasil voltou a cair na mesma fase, desta vez diante da Croácia.
Botafogo busca reação no Brasileirão
O Botafogo vive um momento de pressão no Campeonato Brasileiro. A equipe não vence na competição desde 26 de julho, quando derrotou o Cruzeiro por 1 a 0 fora de casa.
Atualmente, o Alvinegro ocupa a 14ª colocação, com 32 pontos. A diretoria agora avalia nomes para assumir definitivamente o comando da equipe, enquanto Bellão conduz o time de maneira provisória.
